Getting Started

Getting started is easy with Wii Fit U. Read on for some helpful tips. And for more detailed instructions, please refer to the e-manual included with Wii Fit U.

Connecting the Fit Meter for the first time

To register your Fit Meter, just select your profile, then choose the Fit Meter icon next to your Mii™ character. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the Fit Meter and Wii U GamePad.

You can register or delete the Fit Meter after the first Body Test by selecting your Mii character (User Settings) from the main menu.

Note that each Fit Meter can hold only one user's data. A separate Fit Meter is required for each user who wishes to record daily activity.

One Fit Meter is included with the packaged version of Wii Fit U and additional Fit Meter accessories are sold separately.

Syncing your daily data

1

Select your profile in the Wii Fit Plaza (selected profile has to already have had a Fit Meter initialized to it). An on-screen message will tell you when the system is ready to connect.

2

Align the infrared transceivers of the Fit Meter and the Wii U GamePad, holding them no more than two inches apart.

3

Then, on the Fit Meter, hold down the center button for at least two seconds to initiate the infrared connection.

4

View your progress in the Fit Meter Data panel of the Main Menu.

Here’s how to make the transfer

If you’ve already performed a Wii System Transfer, you don’t have to take any action—your Wii Fit data will have been included.

If you have not performed a Wii System Transfer, you can transfer your Wii Fit data separately.

It’s best to perform a transfer the first time you start Wii Fit U. Once you’ve begun playing, you may still transfer data, but you will have to delete your Wii Fit U data and start over.

Transferring data from Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus

1

On your Wii console, go to the Wii Menu>Wii Options>Data Management>Save Data>Wii, and then copy the save data for Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus to an SD Card. (SD Cards sold separately.)

2

Insert the SD Card in your Wii U console and turn the power on.

3

Insert a Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus disc into your Wii U.

4

From the Wii U Menu, choose Wii Menu, then start Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus. Follow the on-screen instructions to create new save data.

5

Return to the Wii Menu, then choose Wii Options>Data Management>Save Data, and delete the Wii Fit save data.

6

Then select the “SD Card” tab, and copy the save data from the SD card to Wii system memory. From the Wii U menu, start Wii Fit U and the data will automatically integrate.
